Feng Shui Design Tips for Teen Bedrooms
Everyone wants their child to grow as a happy, healthy and a smart kid and for that you often make sure that they eat well, take proper vitamins and even do regular exercises. Everyone does these things but one thing that really does matter is the bedroom of your kid. The position and the arrangement of the teens bedroom can help your child grow fast or can even restrict their growth.
Feng shui is a wonderful way to create improvements in your child’s life simply by aligning the items in their bedroom. The first thing to look in their bedroom is the knowledge area that is the closest left corner while entering into the room. This area should not contain the desk or the computer and most importantly it must not contain clutter.
It’s important to have a very clean looking room that finds positive energy in the decor, which can affect the entire decor. Move the furniture away from all doors. This will give your room a clear open look. Instead of using large pieces of furniture, find smaller furniture that can hold everything you need without taking up a lot of room. You need a bed that can save space, for example, a captains’ bed or a loft bed.
Your child’s bedroom should be located close to your bedroom. So you can easily control their activities and timely help them if necessary. The bedroom must be painted with soothing colours. Good colour choices for bedrooms are skin colours: yellows, browns, pinks, etc. Avoid blue or dark-coloured ceilings, wallpaper with plants or flowers, actual plants or flowers in the bedroom, or water elements, such as fish, lakes, or water.
Some tips that can really help you a lot in aligning things are as follows:
• To increase the energy level in the bedroom of the child, you can hang a crystal over their desk.
• To increase the concentration power of your child, amethyst must be placed on the desk. An alternative to this is a heavy paper-weight.
• Keep good amount of books in the room as positive energy comes from the books that can help your child a lot. Avoid books in the North West or South East or South West directions of your child’s room.
• If the desk is situated along with a window then curtains must be placed while studying so that your child doesn’t get disturbed by the outside interference.
• If possible, even in their school, avoid making them sit around a window seat. This will force them to pay attention in the class. The best place to get seated is in the centre of the class room.
• Check that there is proper lighting in your kid’s room as Good Chi prevails only in the good lighting.
• Your child’s bedroom should not have too many electronic devices such as computers, televisions, sound amplifier, etc.
They can generate waves that lead to the child’s mental disturbance during sleep. Your kid’s bedroom should be neatly organized, to create good habits for your kid.
• Make sure your children always try and face the East or North while studying as it helps in quicker learning and improve memory, concentration as well as boosts their focus.
• Placing images of Lord Ganesha and Maa Saraswati in the study room adds on to the positivity in the study room.
• Place a picture that is symbolic of water behind the chair where the child sits for studying; it helps in increasing the flow of creative energy.
• Make sure that there are no mirror reflections in the study room as it may have an effect of doubling their work load.
• Place a wind chime either at the door entrance or any of the windows. It helps in making the child alert and attentive about the surroundings.
The principles of feng shui design would be useful to apply to the design of children’s bedrooms. It will help your child have an interesting life, happiness and create an orientation to develop a good character to your child later.
